Glion Institute of Higher Education of Switzerland was established in 1962. In 2002, Glion became part of a division of Laureate Education, Inc. In Switzerland, Laureate Hospitality Education coordinates the provision of its two sister schools Glion and Les Roches.

Glion Institute of Higher Education of Switzerland has two campuses: Glion and Bulle. The Glion campus situated directly above Montreux, whereas the Bulle campus located within a few minutes' walk from the town centre, a 30-minute drive from Montreux and just over an hour's drive from Geneva.
